Sunday Post – Design

This week’s Sunday Post topic: Design

Okay, I found a couple of older items that seem to fit the idea of Design – as in Clothing Design.

This first one, started out as a bald naked model posed and rendered in Poser. I then took the render into  Paint Shop Pro (version 7 back then) and created this dress design on it. It was my first attempt at trying to design and paint a dress onto a model – shoes, hair, everything all painted. The FX are a bit amateurish, but hey, it’s for fun.

So… once I figured out how to alter clothing items in Poser through manipulating texture maps, etc, I did another render – this time I used a different Poser model, with a generic dress (Morphing Fantasy Dress for those who know what I’m talking about). I took the template of the dress and made transparency maps and added texturing and such – different texture from the original, but it was a different process altogether. Through playing around with the mapping, I was able to recreate my design in 3d and put the dress on a model as seen here:

Other than the color and texture differences, I think the design came out pretty close to the original, don’t you? Anyway it was a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll try it again one day.
